Meet the founder
Rosaline Ratering-McDonald

A personal introduction
My name is Rosaline Ratering-McDonald, and I am the founder of GezondeLeefstijlcoach™. Ratering is my maiden name, rooted in the Achterhoek region of the Netherlands. McDonald is my married name. My husband Rob McDonald, a former professional footballer, is English.
For more than 15 years, I have worked full-time to help people take control of their vitality and lifestyle in a practical, achievable and sustainable way.
'Vitality is life force. Every person needs it to live well.'
I am a qualified IMPACT lifestyle trainer, medically accredited smoking-cessation coach and certified higher professional education teacher. I support individuals and organisations with lifestyle change, vitality and sustainable employability.
My mission
True health goes beyond treating symptoms. It means acting earlier, making healthy choices achievable and working towards lasting behaviour change while seeing the whole person.
I work from a Christian identity and believe prevention should be accessible to everyone, including people who want to take responsibility for their health before illness or absence takes hold.
'My mission is clear: to contribute to a healthier society and make the healthiest version of yourself achievable.'
My own journey also shaped this mission. I share more of that story in Stay Natural.
Practical and purposeful
My strength lies in developing prevention programmes for different audiences. My team and I focus on practical lifestyle education, behaviour change and motivation—not theory for its own sake, but steps people can actually take.
Making vitality accessible
We also support initiatives that help people with fewer financial resources access lifestyle guidance. In this way, improving health becomes something we do not only for ourselves, but for one another.
